Director Peter Yates (\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"a-text-italic\"\u003eBreaking Away\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e) approached the story with an emphasis on absolute authenticity, using a variety of San Francisco locations.
