Daring to blend rock 'n' roll with pop, jazz and classical music, Emerson, Lake & Palmer enjoyed hit singles and created blockbuster albums that sold in their millions. One of the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1970s, ELP's first seven albums reached the US Top 20 and first nine albums attained RIAA Gold Certification. Even when critics questioned their ambitions and called them Monsters of Prog Rock, ELP cheerfully went on to stun audiences with diverse works like "Pictures At An Exhibition," "Fanfare For The Common Man" and the ballad "Lucky Man." And they were happy to finish off each performance with a rousing retro blast of "Nutrocker."
