Bell X1 - Bloodless Coup (New CD)
Description
Bell X1 have long been considered one of Ireland's finest music groups. Reminiscent of Broken Social Scene for their often changing collection of contributors, the band's line up over the years has included Damien Rice (when they were known as Juniper). Bell X1 released three increasingly successful albums on Island Records: NEITHER AM I, MUSIC IN MOUTH (voted in the Irish Times' Top 40 Irish Rock Albums of all time) and FLOCK (5 songs in the Irish Top 20 at once). Bell X1 then took the bold step of setting up their own record label, and in 2009 released BLUE LIGHTS ON THE RUNWAY which went on to become the top selling independent release in Ireland. After sold out tours around the world and invitations to David Letterman, Conan O'Brien and the White House, the band returned home to a country deeply wounded by it's self-inflicted economic troubles. They set out to create an album that searched for answers while touching upon the nature of our relationships in a world where technology, religion and politics intersect. The result is an unflinching new album, appropriately titled BLOODLESS COUP.
